Mission Statement

We facilitate a smooth transition for people becoming members of RLC. We help to walk them through the labyrinth of understanding the possibilities that are available for serving each other, the church as a whole and the community.

Equipping provides and updates the hand book and time and talent sheets yearly.

We also provide help for anyone in the congregations to create new opportunities of ministries.

The ministries under Equipping are:

• Welcomers- make sure welcome packets and coffee mugs are stocked at the Welcome desk in the narthex, they ensure visitors are recognized and welcomed warmly, and they follow up with recurring visitors.
• Shepherds- are matched with visitors who wish to become members.  This is a year's commitment to make sure that the new members are aware of social activities, are getting information from the church on a regular basis and has all their questions answered.
• New Members- New members classes consist of four sessions held weekly. One session with the pastor, one session on church history and the opportunities available, and two sessions for the Spiritual gifts classes.

Gifted and equipping classes help us understand the special abilities we have which we can use to glorify God and serve our church and our community. These abilities are called spiritual gifts.

Like other presents, it is impossible to fully appreciate and make use of our spiritual gifts until they have been opened. This tool will help you begin to open your spiritual gifts.

• Resource/Library Room is open for all members of the church to use.   We have an ongoing wish list of items that would be of use to the congregation.  Laptop computers that work so we can teach classes, books to add to the library, videos and material on leadership training.  We also wish to create an area for children with books they would like to read big pillows and roll out bookshelves’.  This could be a moveable reading area that could be used anywhere in the church by the children.
